NATIONAL POOL LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) qualifies learners ability to act safely, competently and effectively on a day-to-day basis and when an emergency occurs in a swimming pool and leisure environment.
​
The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the United Kingdom and Ireland that complies with the industry guidance contained within the HSE publication 'Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools'.

STA Lifeguard qualifications are also available for companies who prefer this course.

The NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson.
The qualification is independently assessed, it is valid for 2 years and is suitable for a wide range of swimming pool designs and water depths.

SAFETY AWARD FOR TEACHERS
The STA Safety Award for Teachers qualification is designed to train learners in pool rescue and CPR techniques in order to deal with poolside emergencies in accordance with the National Occupational Standards and Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools and British Standard BS EN 15288 Part 2, Safety Requirements for Operations.

This qualification is for learners who may teach or assist swimming lessons and aquatic activities. It a great introduction into the world of lifesaving, as you can take this course a 14 years old.

POOL EMERGENCY RESPONDER
The Pool Emergency Responder qualification is designed to train learners in pool rescue, CPR techniques and first aid competencies in order to deal with poolside emergencies.
Employers through risk assessment deem the Pool Emergency Responder qualification appropriate to meet their Health and Safety responsibilities.
​
Recommended forthose over the age of 16 years who’s duties include responding to a poolside emergency including fitness or hotel type pools that are traditionally smaller and shallower than a regular pool.
Employees who support a lifeguard team may also like to take the Pool Emergency Responder course.
